LOCATION
Shepherd’s Ranch Christian Academy is located approximately 30 miles east of Redding in scenic Northern California. The secluded natural wilderness setting provides an ideal learning environment, and the Ranch offers a myriad of recreational elements. Students enjoy activities such as camping, hiking, swimming, running track, basketball, soccer, snow sports, volleyball and softball.

STUDENT LIFE
Students of Shepherd’s Ranch Christian Academy reside in modern dormitory style housing and utilize an array of unique facilities including lakeside classrooms, weight training room, library, cafeteria and athletic facilities. Time is structured to ensure students are active and productive, and useful practices that are instilled that can be carried over into everyday life such as Bible reading, housekeeping, fitness, and good study habits.
CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY
Community service work is a key component of our program. Students demonstrate awareness of their impact on the community, and learn to actively influence it in a positive way. Students will participate in Mission trips and community service projects, sharing their time and talents on behalf of those who are less fortunate.
OUTDOOR ADVENTURE
The program enables our students to experience the awesome wonders of God’s beautiful creation in the Northern California and Oregon wilderness. Outdoor adventures help students find their inner strength and discover their true potential. Students participate in recreational activities such as camping, hiking and swimming.
SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT
Spiritual transformation of our students is central to our Mission. We present the basics of Christian faith and demonstrate how to incorporate Biblical principles into daily life situations. Our Staff provides individual guidance, counseling, and partnership in prayer. Students also attend weekly Church services at the local community Church.
STUDENT PROFILE
Our program is designed for middle and high school age studentswho have fallen behind in their education and social development. Many of these students may be functioning well below their potential. Their poor academic performance may be due to a lack of motivation, negative school or home experiences, learning
difficulties, or one or more of the criteria listed below:
> Truancy or dropping grades
> Sudden drop in school performance
> Detachment from family
> Drug and/or alcohol abuse
> Low self-esteem
> Untrustworthy and manipulative
> Antagonistic and angry
> Poor family relationship
> Diagnosis such as A.D.D. and A.D.H.D.
> Experienced trauma
> Running away from home
> Behavior problems
EDUCATION
Upon admission, Shepherd’s Ranch Christian Academy evaluates each student and determines appropriate class placement. This initial assessment includes a review of previous grades, academic performance, social skills and overall individual strengths and opportunities for growth.
An academic learning plan is developed which specifies the required lesson plan, and students complete these courses with the guidance of well-qualified professionals who are uniquely trained to work with at-risk students. We offer courses for grades 7-12 in all subjects required for a high school diploma from either Shepherd’s Ranch Christian Academy or other secondary schools.
A strong foundation is offered at each grade level in the following subject areas:

Applications for Admission are available on our website and can be requested by telephone. Enrollment is year-round and tuition is extremely affordable. Admissions counselors will reply within 48 hours of receiving completed applications regarding eligibility and/or enrollment.
